Friday 1st August

Yesterday was a big day with the delivery of the bed, recliner and bathroom aids, and while it was a massive step for Darren, it was 100% the right one. He feels so much more comfortable in the bed and recliner and he was so relieved that they are now in place. The best thing is that the bed doesn’t look like a hospital bed, even though it is.

Being relaxed and comfortable gives him more energy for socialising and he was much more awake yesterday. It’s possible the increase in steroids is making him more unsteady but it’s always a cost/benefit analysis. He ate a meal at the table with Bel and Eddie, which he hasn’t done in quite a while, although he did have to go back to bed afterwards.

Yesterday afternoon was spent in the recliner either watching the 3D printer remotely with Bel, or talking about electric vehicles with Gemma (the blackout curtains are amazing, thank you).
